Durance is a fast-paced, low-prep, highly collaborative game in the tradition of Fiasco. Players in Durance assume the dual roles of convicts and guards trying to survive on an outrageously hostile planet. The thin veneer that separates the two classes tends to erode during play, raising questions about corruption, justice and mercy.

Fiasco is a GM-less game for 3-5 players, designed to be played in a few hours with six-sided dice and no preparation. During a game you will engineer and play out stupid, disastrous situations, usually at the intersection of greed, fear, and lust. The book includes in-depth discussion of common pitfalls and solid techniques for making Fiasco games excellent as well as advice for writing your own Playsets and hacking the rules. In addition, the Companion features exciting rules variants, new Tilt and Aftermath tables and four new Playsets (Fiasco High, Regina's Wedding, Vegas, and Mission to Mercury).

The book also features a foreword by Wil Wheaton and interviews with an enthusiastic and growing cohort who are already taking the game into the classroom, the writer’s room, and up on stage.

The print edition is 168 pages 6x9 perfect bound pages, with a color cover and illustrations, very much in the style of Fiasco. Every purchase of the print book includes the PDF.

Drowning and Falling is a benefit project! All proceeds from sales of this game, after taxes and production costs, will be donated to ORBIS International (www.orbis.org). The mission of ORBIS is to eliminate avoidable blindness and restore sight in the developing world, where 90% of the world’s blind live. They do this in part by operating a completely awesome flying eye hospital in a converted DC-10.
