JUGGERNAUT is a live-action game about free will for 4-6 players and 1-2 hours that plays like a creepy Twilight Zone episode and requires almost no prep. It is set on July third, 1950. The Korean War is eight days old. National Security Council Report 68 is sitting on Harry Truman’s desk, a grim outline of the Cold War that is to enfold the world for the next 40 years. Alan Turing’s paper “Computing Machinery and Intelligence” is circulating for review. Cinderella is a box office sensation. And you have invented a computer that can see the future.
Night Witches is a game about Soviet airwomen at war. As a member of the 588th Night Bomber Regiment during World War 2, you’ll answer the call of your Motherland in her darkest hour. Can you do your duty and strike blow after blow against the Fascists? Can you overcome discrimination and outright sabotage and rise above your sexist comrades? Are there limits to patriotism— or endurance? Play Night Witches and find out.
Out of Dodge
Out of Dodge is a four-person, “American Freeform” live-action game about desperate criminals on a car ride to nowhere. Perfect for your next road trip! It can be played by responsible people in an actual moving car. There is no Game Master, but you’ll need one player to prepare the materials.
The Warren is a role-playing game by Marshall Miller in which players take on the roles of intelligent rabbits trying to make the best of a world filled with hazards, predators and, worst of all, other rabbits. This game uses a heavily-modified version of the game mechanics from Apocalypse World. In The Warren, however, animals are the people and humans are the apocalypse.
Coming Spring 2015
The Climb is a short, six-person, live-action game about an expedition to a virgin peak in the Himalayas. The game requires six players, a large quiet space, and should take 2-3 hours to play. There is no Game Master, but you’ll need one player to organize and facilitate.
Carolina Death Crawl
Carolina Death Crawl is a swampy Southern Gothic roleplaying card game for three or more players. At the height of the American Civil War, your characters have been abandoned deep behind Confederate lines. Can they fight their way through enemy territory and treacherous terrain back to safety? For all but one, the answer is “no!”, but the dark story you tell in trying will be memorable and thrilling. Fun and competitive, the game gives you all the history you need—you supply the desperation, depravity, and destruction.
Durance – Prison Planet. On a remote planet far from civilization, the worst criminal scum from a dozen star systems have been dumped, charged with building new lives under the watchful eye of Authority. Within a brutal hierarchy of savagery and servility, convicts and guards alike must make hard choices. Every colonist has their own code of conduct and their own aspirations—aspirations that invariably come at the expense of others. This dangerous new world is too small for everyone to succeed. In fact, it may well be too small for anyone to succeed. Only the shrewdest, the toughest and the luckiest will get a chance to find out. Will you be among them?
Fiasco is a game about ordinary people with powerful ambition and poor impulse control. There will be big dreams and flawed execution. It won’t go well for them, to put it mildly, and in the end it will probably all go south in a glorious heap of jealousy, murder, and recrimination. It’s designed to be played in a single session, usually around two and a half hours, with no prep.
The Shab-al-Hiri Roach
A fast paced and hilarious game, The Shab-al-Hiri Roach requires no Game Master and can be played in a single evening. If you enjoy crazed one-upmanship, furious stake-setting, and chanting gutteral commands in Sumerian, The Roach would like to have a word with you.
Grey Ranks takes place during the Warsaw Uprising in the summer and autumn of 1944. In this award-winning game, you take the role of a Polish teen, a former Boy Scout or Girl Guide, vital adjuncts to the Home Army known as the Grey Ranks. The game forces you to balance the personal needs of your character – love, intimacy, and belonging – with those of a nation being torn to pieces from three directions.
Drowning and Falling
