More Card and Name Musings

I made myself a set on index cards and handling them made me realize they need to be oriented vertically, like playing cards. I think I’ll differentiate them from the character cards by making the latter horizontal. Just playing around right now.
Also, the name: I’m thinking CAROLINA DEATH RIDE. Or CAROLINA SWAMP CRAWL. Autumn suggested CAROLINA SWAMP DEATH (Good metal band name but not very active). CAROLINA DEATH CRAWL? I can’t decide. Which variation do you like? Can you think of a better one?

Thanks for that helpful suggestion.
CAROLINA POSSUM TROT occurred to me also, although that might be too obscure. Possum is 1860’s lingo for good friend, and a possum trot is a backwoods game trail.

I like Carolina Swamp Crawl. I would be cool to incorporate possum somehow though.

I think you had it earlier w/o knowing it:
THESE FIENDS AND HYENAS

Thanks Mike. That’s an actual quote, by the way! Raleigh State Journal, 5 August 1863. I love it, it’ll be used somehow, maybe as a sub-head, but it isn’t active enough for me. It really does sum up the character of the raid, though.

It may be better as a subhed under the right thing. (But please, please not under CAROLINA DEATH CRAWL.)
The only thing really wrong with POTTER’S RAID as a title, although it took me a bit to warm up to it, is it describes the pre-game, not the game. I think you need something similarly plain-on-the-surface for the meat of what’s happening. THE MARCH TO NEW BERN is unfortunately not quite it.
THE LAST MARCH OF COMPANY L? (Wait, is it the last?)

Hmm … I see what you are saying. My impulse is to go with something punchy and sensational that promises fun for the player, rather than something serious and historical-sounding. Ideally both of course – back to fiends and hyenas. Thanks for thinking about this, it is helpful.

I think I’m guided by the brilliantly titled and generally transcendent book WISCONSIN DEATH TRIP.

I’m still thinking of _Inglorious Basterds_. I think if you grabbily describe the knaves in the title, the action is a given.
CAROLINA TRAITORS
MARCH OF THE TURNCOATS
oh hell I don’t know. Damn Tarantino stole our title.
