Here’s Jeff’s first pass at the front cover:

The figures will be smaller and Jadwiga is removed from the group, appearing on the back cover alone. The game’s title will be hand-lettered across the open space, and the shadowy kotwica is also moved to the back. It’ll look very nice. I’m super impressed with Jeff Bent’s work!

Grey Ranks: The Back Cover

Yeah, I know, not super exciting. But it’s still pretty cool, with Jadwiga running to catch up and all. The other three iconic characters (Regdar, Myalee and Fyren Cloudfloater) are on the front rocking out. We’re still hashing out the specifics of the front cover, but this gives you an idea of the style. Jeff was influenced by the work of German Expressionist Otto Dix a bit:

Game Chef

I’m neck deep in Game Chef right now. So far, so good, and the extra-long contest period means that I’ll get a chance to playtest this weekend. My game’s called Grover Cleveland, and here’s the pitch:

It’s 1886. You and your two friends are Secret Service agents charged with protecting the dignity and grandeur of the Presidency. The thing is, Old Grover’s a very bad man with some nasty secrets - and his sister Rose, the bachelor President’s First Lady, is out to find them all. If she does, you’re out of the best job you’ve ever had. What’s the plan, sport?

Game Chef is great!

Playtesting Grey Ranks

A playtest report of last night’s session with my local posse, which went very well. I love those guys! Update: Session Two.
