MACE

Posted by Jason on August 29th, 2006 — in Conventions

I’ll be at MACE this year with the NerdRTP crew and Luke Crane, 10-12 November. I’m running Cold City and The Shadow of Yesterday (an epic throw-down set in temicxoch, the Aztec “flowery dream” and party pad of the Gods). There’s a whole indie games track, with Burning Wheel, The Roach, Infected, and other goodness. I’ll also be judging the Iron MACE contest, which will be very fun. If you can get to High Point in November, I’ll see you there!

Ropecon

Tobias Wrigstad’s Ropecon report. One of these days, I’m going to show up at Ropecon or Fastaval and throw down, Bull City style.

The Roach Tells You What To Do

That’s what Mike Mearls says, anyway! He’s referring to the focused design sensibility often present in games like The Roach, and puts us in good company – with Dogs in the Vineyard, InSpectres, and Agon. Thanks, Mike!

Gen Con

Wow, Gen Con pretty much rocked my world.

I learned a lot. I got to playtest Grey Ranks with four young turks who gave me a ton of useful feedback, and I got to meet many friends in person for the first time. We sold a lot of Roach and some Drowning and Falling as well. Working the booth was very satisfying and I had a great, exhausting time. Expect big GR revisions as well as a flowering of exciting new ideas based on actual play and discussion at Gen Con.
